As the Foundations ambitious vision for the Veterans’ Wellness and Recovery Retreat in Tionesta, PA, progresses beyond the successful completion of Phase 1—the acquisition of the idyllic Island Property—anticipation and determination converge in Phase 2.
Here, the focus pivots towards the construction of state-of-the-art facilities that will serve as the backbone for one of the nation’s’ most comprehensive and holistic models for treating Veterans grappling with PTSD and/or substance use disorder. Phase 2 marks a pivotal juncture, where the physical manifestation of unwavering support for our nation’s heroes begins to take shape. These meticulously designed facilities, ranging from custom bungalows to a cutting-edge health and wellness clinic, embody the commitment to creating an environment that transcends conventional rehabilitation settings.
Nestled on the serene island property, the Veterans’ Wellness and Recovery Retreat is set to become a beacon of hope and healing for those who have selflessly served their nation. As Phase 2 unfolds, an array of cutting-edge facilities will emerge, meticulously designed to harmonize with nature, fostering a therapeutic environment for the heroes seeking solace. Facilities on the Wellness Retreat
Residential Bungalows: Ten custom bungalows, scattered amidst lush greenery, will stand as havens for the participating Veterans. Each abode, a testament to thoughtful design, accommodates four individuals, providing both privacy and communal support. The architecture will seamlessly blend with the island’s natural motifs, incorporating earthy tones and sustainable materials to create a soothing retreat.
The Health and Wellness Clinic & Recreation and Educational Center: The Health and Wellness Clinic, a hub of holistic care, mirrors this design ethos. Surrounded by flourishing greenery, the clinic encompasses medical and dental facilities, nutrition and mental health counseling suites, physical therapy, and administrative offices. This healing touch will also extend to the recreation/education center, where a harmonious fusion of modernity and nature welcomes Veterans. Here, a gymnasium, basketball court, entertainment room, and high-tech, educational classrooms echo the island’s beauty.
The Industrial and Fine Arts Building: The Industrial and Fine Arts Complex, will be a masterpiece of architectural innovation, integrating seamlessly with the island landscape. Woodworking and welding shops coexist with fine arts and pottery studios, providing Veterans avenues for self-expression and skill development within nature’s embrace.
Commercial Dining Facility: The Commercial Dining Facility, will be a culinary haven, mirrors the program’s commitment to well-being. With an open floor plan accommodating 160 seating capacity, it will also feature a stylish coffee/juice bar along with a state-of-the-art conference room. This facility not only nourishes bodies but also fosters community connections. The dining facility will be open to the public and for others to lease for special events, trainings, or parties.
Amphitheater: The Community Amphitheater, a symbol of unity, will rise majestically amidst the island’s flora. Here, events and community engagements unfold, bridging the gap between Veterans, supporters, and the local community.
Phase 3 heralds the meticulous development, integration, and customization of the program, fueled by the hiring of key staff. As the launch date nears, the retreat becomes a testament to American patriotism, a collective effort to honor and heal those who have sacrificed.
Phase 4, the final chapter, invites businesses and high-net worth individuals to contribute to the retreat’s legacy through naming and dedication opportunities. A chance for these patrons to etch their commitment to Veterans’ well-being in the annals of the island’s history.
